It is taking me a while to figure out the benefits of Twitter and basically….what’s so great about it. I guess because I’m such a Facebook fan and user, it boggled my mind that some people would rather Tweet than post. Twitter seemed confusing to me….way too much going on.
So for those of you who still don’t get Twitter, you can learn along with me! I found quite a few blogs and articles on how Twitter works and why so many people use it. Hopefully by the end of this post, we will both be Tweeting like crazy! Yeah…like I need another Social Media platform to occupy my time 
Let’s see what all the fun is about!
So…I’ll post The Top 10 Reasons People Love Twitter. (yes…sometimes my tongue gets stuck in my cheek.)
#1: Short and Simple Tweets. Because of it’s 140 character limit, you really need to be creative, which keeps things interesting! Tell your friends what you are doing in 140 or less.
#2: Making New Friends is so Easy! Just follow someone you like, and chances are if they like you too, they will follow you back! (sounds a little high school to me too) but…that’s why people like it!
#3: Twitter helps you keep yourself updated with latest news & happenings. You can easily follow the Celebrities, Sportsmen or people you like and keep receiving tweets from them on what they are doing or going to do. Haven’t you always wanted to know what Kim Kardashian is doing at any given moment?
#4: “You can know interesting things.” On twitter all the world is before you. You can find many interesting people & many interesting things they do. But on the down side…sometimes you can know too much!
#5: Creating your own identity. You can create your own network of friends by letting the people interested in you and what you do to follow you, thus creating your own online identity on twitter. Whether it’s true or not….they’ll never know!
#6: Sharing updates with people. Many of our friends are interested in knowing what we do so, you can easily update them through your tweets. For example….I’m sure all your friends will want to know when you clip your toenails. They want to make sure you clip regularly.
#7: Twitter helps you expand your network of Friends & Followers. After all….we can’t have too many cyber friends. You’re going to need them when your real friends aren’t there for you.
#8: Fantastic marketing tool. Twitter is free! Who doesn’t love that? It’s a great way to connect with your followers…especially in business. (That post is for a later date)
#9: Twitter is simple. This one I may have to disagree with…or just MAYBE it is so simple that I’m making it complicated! Don’t think, just tweet!
#10: Twitter is fun. This one is obvious because of the number of people using it. I mean if it were in anyway painful there wouldn’t be nearly 500 million people on it. This could be the reason I haven’t really delved into it yet…because I know me, and I know I could become addicted!
There you have it…why people love Twitter. I think the most confusing thing about it to me is how to figure out who to follow and who I should let follow me? This week, I’m going to become a Tweeting fool and I’ll let you know the results!
